“Each day is a new life”

“I am going to look around”

Spring. My front yard. Thinking of Anne Lamott: “I am going to try to pay attention to the spring. I am going to look around at all the flowers, and look up at the hectic trees. I am going to close my eyes and listen.”Photo: a budding tree in the front yard of Lisa Berne, author of You May Kiss the Bride (Avon Books)

Crescent Voles

I don’t fully understand it, but my son said on Monday evening that he needed to bring in to school the next day (of course) some kind of baked good for chemistry class. Something about volume, which somehow segued into the idea of voles and raisins. Luckily we had a tube of crescent-roll dough on hand. And here is the result of his culinary handicraft. Cute, no?Photo: "crescent voles"

Actually, I don’t understand it all. But afterwards he said his Crescent Voles were a big hit. :)

“Find yourself”

Nina Cosford made this. I love it for all kinds of reasons, not least of which is that I loved word searches when I was a kid.
