I made a cake for my husband’s birthday — at his request, a banana cake — and our son did the icing. :)

Both the cake and the icing were new recipes for me, and the result was, I may say without false modesty, a huge hit! And because I like to share good things, here they are. They’re from my trusty, old-school, well-loved Better Homes & Gardens Cookbook. Enjoy!

And just how do I know? Because this has arrived. Sweet, tender, delicious. Glorious!
